The Scout HQ in Colney Heath was built and paid for by the local community – and the Scouts have been trying to renew the lease with the Parish Council for over five years! The Parish Council have now left us no other option but to launch this SOS campaign.

Coming to a letterbox near you – our team of volunteers have been super busy delivering postcards to every household in the Parish. Keep an eye on your doormat and make sure you take part in our community survey.

WHAT THE PUBLIC ARE SAYING. . .

Colney Heath Parish Council appears to have lost sight of the community it serves in it’s actions over the Scout Hut. This is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
What this council is doing is nothing short of theft. The court of public opinion must prevail.
Disgraceful making you part with good money to see a solicitor and then changing the goalposts. What are the parish council doing to entertain the young people in the area?
As a ex-Chairman of the scout group I am absolutely disgusted at the parish Council’s attitude towards the Scout group, do they care about the young people of the village?
This sounds like a very dirty trick. Parish Councils should not behave like cheap crooks.
Whatever happened to 'do a good turn to somebody every day ?' Parish council's behaviour very shabby.
So sad to see it ending up in a debacle with Parish council who after all are elected to protect the community interests.
Shocking that this has dragged on so long - come on Councillors - get it sorted!
As a former Scout Leader at Colney Heath, I feel it is disgraceful the way the Parish Council have acted.
This is a backbone of the community! It should definitely STAY!
The council should hang their heads in shame
Today we have a less benign Parish Council that appears to be more interested in acquisition of assets than community. Shame on the Parish Council.
This is just ludicrous. The scouts provide vital support and a valuable outlet for children and families alike. What is the council thinking
This is disgraceful and disgusting. Come on you Councillors of the Council who were elected for the good of the community sort yourselves out and give these young Scout their hut back.
